Bless Our Little Tree.

Christmas time is here. Believe it. One of my favorite things about Christmas is my dad's untraditional traditions. This is his Christmas tree. Yep.

A light-up palm tree. Classy, no? And yes... it even has ornaments. My favorite is our Boise State ornament. Again... classy.

See, my dad loves to travel for recreational purposes. He usually is home in Boise 3-4 days a week, Monday through Wednesday-ish. Every single weekend of the year, he travels. He either goes to his girlfriend's cabin in McCall, Idaho, or his girlfriend's condo down in Palm Desert, California. Ahh... the life.

Therefore... about 6 years ago, the palm Christmas tree was born in an effort to keep Christmas fun, yet low maintenance. In addition to our funky tree, we also eat Cincinnati Chili every Christmas eve. Yum yum yummm. It's so delicious.

So that's that. Untraditional traditions. I love my dad. I love our tree. I love Cincinnati Chili. But most of all, I love that Christmas time cheer.

Christmas time is here
Happiness and cheer
Fun for all that children call
Their favorite time of the year

Snowflakes in the air

Carols everywhere
Olden times and ancient rhymes
Of love and dreams to share

Sleigh bells in the air

Beauty everywhere
Yuletide by the fireside
And joyful memories there

Christmas time is here

We'll be drawing near
Oh, that we could always see
Such spirit through the year
Oh, that we could always see
Such spirit through the year...
