As of late.

Sweater: Franchesca's // Top: Marc Jacobs // Shorts: Old Navy // Sandals: Steve Madden // Necklace: Gift

I want to begin this post by saying THANK YOU for your support. Wow. Each of you has made such a difference in my life. Your love for Aunie Sauce never ceases to amaze me. I definitely did not expect all of the love, support, and friendships that I have encountered from blogging.

I get emails all the time from people asking me, "What do you do when you find yourself in a blogging rut?"

Normally, I don't. I LOVE blogging and I never seem to have trouble finding things to write about. I never have trouble finding new and lovely blogs to gain inspiration from. I especially never seem to have trouble getting in over my head (right, Daniel? I know you're reading and you are the first to recognize when I'm taking on too heavy of a burden).

I'm sure you can all relate to me with that one. It seems like time is escaping me lately... like the sand is rushing through the hole in the hourglass faster than I can keep up with it. When looking back at my posts about my past or my trichotillomania, I'm sure you can guess that I have a bit of anxiety. Just a BIT. Anyway, as I tend to keep going, going, going, that anxiety keeps building, building and building. Right now? I'm a big huge mountain of anxiety. Stress. Overwhelming thoughts. And I'm trying not to break.

So, what do I do when I get into a blogging or "time" rut? I make changes. And soon, some of those changes will begin to take effect. I will still maintain the same blogging schedule, but I'm cutting back on some of the extra things I do. For instance, in July my advertising options are changing slightly. It's something I need to change to keep my sanity. You may think, "What are 2 extra Shout-Out and Giveaway posts a month?" Honestly? Those TWO posts take more time each month than anything. Whether it's collecting information from people, editing the photos, copying and pasting (or hunting down) everyone's links... it's a lot of work. Hours of work. Hours and hours and hours of work. I digress.

My point? I'm making some changes... changes that I hope will reflect the fact that my blog was created, and still is, a way for me to express myself in my little online diary of sorts. If it feels like an obligation, not a hobby I adore, it's just not as fun anymore. I hope you understand. I still love you all. See Monday.

Love your cardi in the pics!
I'm hoping to make more time to focus on the things I love, like blogging, reading and writing (and baking!) I've found that when I have little time to do the things I love, I'm a miserable person. I want to be happy all the time and if that means making more time for me, well, that shouldn't be a problem!

I totally understand your need for change. Blogging can be so time consuming along with sponsors, giveaways, guest post, emails, commenting... Etc... It has been so overwhelming for me, I can't imagine what it's been for you with your full time job. Sometimes we just need to reevaluate things and cut corners to make our days less stressful.

It is amazing how much time can be spent editing pictures and situating blog post. I totally understand where you are coming from and my blog is small potatoes, haha! Have a wonderful weekend! Cute outfit by the way, that necklace looks great!

I know what you mean, thats why I keep my blogging job and my personal blog separate but thats also why I dont get a chance to update my personal blog as much. PS you are adorable in these photos, love your outfit!

Blogging is like a full time job! Totally don't blame you for changing things up a bit!

I definitely understand this. I have yet to figure out how to have sponsors without driving myself crazy. Even free ads build in so much extra work! I'm starting to think "meet my sponsor" posts aren't worth the effort. If the sponsors themselves want to take the time to do a guest post, great… but spending hours to track down everyone's information and build a post… I've been there, done that, and I don't blame you for not wanting to do it anymore!

I am in the same place! I actually just posted about the changes coming soon to my blog too. I don't think people realize how exhausting it all can be sometimes, so we definitely need to take the time to reevaluate things once in a while. I'm glad you're doing what's right for you :)

I just found your blog, and you seem like such a sweetheart! I am so excited to follow along, and I can't wait to see what the next few months bring!

xoxo,
Joelle

Blogging is very consuming. I love it, and I frequently find myself taking notes or pictures because it could be a good blog post. I totally understand the toll 2 extra posts can take especially when you aren't writing them. You are gathering the info which for me is hard. Anyway, Aunie have a fun weekend and relax let that anxiety melt away, get a manicure or something fun :)

Girl, you deserve a break - your blog is always adorable, and that does take effort. We all understand that! I hope things settle down a little for you.

I feel you hun! It's supposed to be a hobby, just for fun. This is YOUR space. We are just here to leave little tidbits of love as you go along your journey:)

I totally agree with you. You really have to be motivated to start doing sponsors. Those posts take a LOT of work to put together! And don't even get me started on group giveaways. They are sooo much fun to have but even more work. Take a break and put your feet up. Everyone knows you deserve it :)

Love the red sweater! The overall outfit is very chic and cute! I know what you mean about sponsor posts taking quite a bit. I'm having trouble putting together 6 right now for the month of May. I need to find a program to help me make them look nice faster and easier!-Jessica

amen, sista. simplify, simplify, simplify. if it doesn't grow you or refresh you in some way, cut it out. i'm learning this lesson and sometimes it's harder than we'd like it to be to actually put it in action.
