Things you may not know about me:
  1. My name is pronounced Ana-Lisa, not Anne-Elise. My nickname is pronounced Ah-nee (like the fancy aunty, without the "t"), not Annie. I get called "Annie" all. the. time.
  2. I go to the gym (or run, bike or walk) 7-days a week.
  3. I watch one—and only one—TV show a week, Castle. If it weren't for football season, we'd cancel cable.
  4. I have 2 tattoos.
  5. I'm a super-perfectionist about my nails. They have to be squarely filed and hangnail free at all times. I don't cry over broken nails... but I sure do fix them right away.
  6. I have tried more mascara than any other makeup product. At one point, I had over 40 different tubes.
  7. A bad eyelash day is way worse than a bad hair day.
  8. Every single time I shave my legs, I get razor burn. It's awful... I've tried everything. I have always been jealous of people who have silky-smooth, hardly-hairy legs. That probably sounds really dumb... but it's something I deal with daily.
  9. I have to be really careful around alcohol because of my family history... so I usually try to avoid it, though nothing tastes better than a frozen salted margarita while sitting on a restaurant patio on a hot day.
  10. I hardly, hardly wear heels, and am considering donating every pair I own (all 6 or so of them).
  11. A Carmel Apple Crisp ice cream cone from our local ice cream shop Delsa's is like eating a sugar cone of heaven.
  12. Also, I don't eat ice cream in a cup when we go out (has to be a cone), but I will eat it in a bowl at home.
  13. At first, I never wanted children (ever, ever, ever). Then, I told myself that if I did have kids, I would like to have my first when I was 27. I'll be 27 in 3-months... and yeah...
... that's probably enough about me for today. What's something people might not know about you?

Thanks for sharing these, I also get razor bumps on my upper legs...it's a bummer and yes I'm also jealous of ones who have soft silky legs. Have you ever tried Nair? I just did a review on their new Brazilian Line...I def reccommend it!

I so agree that a bad eyelash day is much worse than a bad hair day! I feel like you're the first person who agrees with me here. And I get razor burn EVERY time I shave too, so I feel your pain. It's the worst!

Mascara is the one thing I never leave the house without! What is your favorite? I am in need of a new tube and would love a suggestion for a nice everyday, easily removed mascara!

Well, I'll check out your review for sure! And I haven't tried Nair in years... but might have to now!

The one that NEVER fails me, gives great volume, doesn't flake, lasts all day, and is really affordable is Covergirl Professional in the red tube. It's amazing.

You must must must try Covergirl Professional Super Thick Lash in the red tube. It stays all day, gives crazy volume, lengthens, and is just awesome. You must try it!

It's so funny you mentioned the razor burn thing because as soon as I finished reading your post, this came up on my Pinterest feed...

I wish I worked out 7 days a week! Holy moly that's commitment :) I only workout 3 :(

Also, razor burn sucks. I get it all the time, too!

Annelise Rowe said...

Kristin, you're a lifesaver. I'm picking it up next time I go to Target!

Annelise Rowe said...

Well... to be fair, it's usually about a 30-minute workout unless I'm biking/running/walking. If I hit the gym, I make it quick! Then I don't dread it ;)

My friend uses Nair and SWEARS by it. I used it years ago and ended up getting that horrible burning feeling, but I think they've improved it since then.
From what I heard, you just apply while you're in the shower, and it's super easy. (And you know, since she made me touch her freshly naired legs, I can definitely say it'll make you super smooth;)

Doesn't it just wash right off? It sound genius if it doesn't...

SOLD! I will pick it up on my next shopping trip! Thanks for the suggestion!

Have you ever tried shaving with coconut oil? I used to get razor burn, but recently started using coconut oil and it leaves my legs super soft, no razor burn at all!

Allie Todd said...

She told me she stands on one end of the shower and does this awesome back bend to wash her hair! But I mean... All that working out? You've gotta be pretty flexible by now! Hahahaha

I have to be careful with alcohol because of my family history as well. It's hard right? And when I hear others talk about alcohol like it's no biggie it really makes me realize what an issue it is with my family.

Castle. <3 That's all I need to say.

Annelise Rowe said...

Oh I'm so glad! Hope you love it!

Annelise Rowe said...

NO! But I've heard that stuff works wonders. I need to pick some up!

Annelise Rowe said...

Ha! That's awesome!

Annelise Rowe said...

It's hard. It's not something I talk about... ever. In fact, I think this is the first time I've EVER mentioned it on my blog, out of respect for my family... but I fired that putting it out there generally isn't calling anyone out...It just sucks. And it destroys relationships and ruins bonds... it's just awful and makes me sad when people don't see how badly it affects those surrounding them... and whey they won't give it up because they don't think they have a problem. Well, I've said too much... but it's one of the biggest weights on my back at all times because I watch firsthand as they spiral downward. I'm sorry you have to deal with it, too.

Yolanda Ronaldo said...

I'm intrigued to know that you have two tattoos...is that weird?

Krysten @ Why Girls Are Weird said...

I feel ya. It's something my family struggles with daily and I hate seeing it. Sometimes it makes me angry because I want certain people to just be OKAY with it. But alcoholism is a disease too. Ah it's so hard and I know what you mean about it being a weight on your back. I have that same thing.

If you ever need to talk about it or vent to someone who gets it, I'm all ears (or I guess eyes, hehe).

Annelise Rowe said...

No! One is shown all the time in photos... it's on my wrist. The other one was something that my mom, sister and I got when I was 18... and now we all want it removed. Ha!

Annelise Rowe said...

You're the best, Krysten. And right back atcha :)

Do it! I got my sisters hooked on it too. It's amazing! I don't know if you have a Trader Joe's around you, but I love theirs. I'm sure any brand will work the same though.

I wish I went to the gym 7 days a week. Then again my job is a labor job, not to bad but Im not sitting either. I also used to get razor burn. I started using mens razors and shaving cream. No problem now.
You watch more TV then I do. I am lucky that James and I don't have to pay the cable bill because no one hardly watches. I also understand you with alcohol. My granddad and dad were both BIG alcoholics. I don't blame them but it does make me very careful because I don't want to end up like that.
Random fact about me: I have handed out TONS of "Power of a praying (wife//husband//parent) but I haven't read it. My mother has and everyone that I had it to LOVE it and thanks me and my mother.

Annelise Rowe said...

No secret... I just get it and get out as fast as possible! Sometimes just around 30-minutes!!

Annelise Rowe said...

Isn't it crazy how much you can have in common with someone you've never met? I highly encourage reading those books!! Give it a shot!

Annelise Rowe said...

yes... and PAIN PAIN PAINNNNNN! I think because I have rather course hair. I have done it & had it done. All I can say is -- MISERABLE. :)

Cody said...

It really is crazy, but wow. So much in common. I just marked in my to read list so I will be reading it soon.

Katie said...

girl, same about the whole shaving your legs thing. it is horrible. have you ever tried waxing your legs? i've been tempted to see if it would be any better. maybe that is a dumb idea but i'm willing to try it.
