White Lace Dress and Black Heels

I think that anyone who knows me would tell you that I don't wear heels often. I love dressing up for weddings or other nice occasions, but on a daily basis, I do not wear heels. While the heels pictured above are actually very comfortable, by the end of the day—or let's be honest, a couple hours—I'm ready for some flats.

I recently received a pair of Fit In Clouds portable & foldable shoes, and I think they are the most practical pair of flats I have in my closet. They come in a tiny pouch that tucks into your purse (and I don't carry big purses, either!) and you can slip them on in a moment's notice to give your feet a break from your heels. I  picked out a dressier pair and tend to wear mine around the office all day because they're so comfortable—forget the heels! You can see photos of these cute flats below.

Heels or flats... what's your pick?

FLATS! I work in the business world too and I always choose flats. Definitely not as fashion forward, but so much more comfortable!

I used to wear heels quite often. Now? definitely ballet flats... I have dozens and dozens of pairs of different colors, patterns, and styles. I think they are so much comfortable, more practical, and can even be more stylish. I'm also pretty tall for a girl anyway. The only time that I wear heels is a dressy event and maybe a night on the town (depending on the bar, but usually it is flats).

You look absolutely gorgeous!! I typically flats because I am clumsy & haven't mastered the art of walking in heels for a long period of time quite yet, ha!

I like it both ways - flats for to and from and heels for the event!

Not only do heels and I not mix, my boyfriend is also very short (like me). So even at fancy functions I get to wear flats. Kind of nice, my feet never hurt from being in heels all day ;-)

I love heels...mainly because I'm a shorty. ;) You are looking radiant today!

I love wearing heels but I think the flats look cuter with this dress because it seems more playful to me, which usually leads to running or skipping, which means heels would be too hard to do such things in lol

Definitely flats. I'm short, but so is my husband.I know it's silly, but I don't like being taller than him. ;) I usually only wear heels or platforms to work/when I'm not with him.

Oh, see I always feel like I can find fancy little flats to go with things. They're SO MUCH EASIER! :)

Annelise Rowe said...

Me too! Even when I go out, I'm usually in flats. I am usually average in a crowd height-wise so being the shorter one for a change is fun :)

Annelise Rowe said...

Thank you so much!! I really appreciate that :) I haven't mastered it either. Wedges aren't so bad, but heels? Ugh!

Annelise Rowe said...

That's the best part! I think that's why I like these flats so much. They fold and go right in my purse!

Annelise Rowe said...

I don't mind either. I have a couple sky-high pairs that make me just a couple inches shorter than Daniel, and I don't like being that close to his height! Too close! :)

Francis, thank you so much! I'm FEELING radiant, too!

Chelsea, I think you're right. I had a comment on my facebook that the heels didn't seem to match, and looking back, with this dress, the flats totally go better. The dress IS playful! :)

I don't enjoy being anywhere near Daniel's height, either! It feels strange. Flats all the way! :)

Lovely lovely dress! Despite the pain, still heels ;)

I LOVE my heels and I'll wear the highest ones I can find for date night..BUT...living in the Pacific Northwest, so many months out of the year are rainy, cold, or otherwise treacherous if you're not wearing a sturdy pair of flats or boots! (I love my boot collection even more than my heel collection, hehe.) So I'd have to say it depends on the weather, and after that it depends on whether we might want to walk a long distance! As much as I love fixing up I won't sacrifice my comfort. I'd rather wear my fancy dresses with a pair of flats and be able to take an unexpected detour through a park or museum exhibit instead of missing out because my feet hurt!!

P.S. Love the way you added the black belt to this dress :)

Thanks Hanna! I got this dress last year and wore it to my bridal shower. So fun & flirty!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks so much, girl! This might sound silly, but I never pictured you as a heels girl... so I'm so glad to find out you like them! And you're right, no one wants to miss detours through the park! :) Oh, and the belt came that way on the dress, though when I bought it, the tie was in front, but I prefer it in the back :)

Haha, it doesn't sound silly at all :) I'll always take practicality over frills! I learned my lesson wearing heels to walk all over town once, never again! At the very least I'll tuck flats in my purse. Roll-ups rock!

Roll-ups! That's awesome. They're so practical!
