Camping

Idaho Camping

This weekend, we went camping! It was my first time, and it was a SUCCESS! We camped with another family from church and it was great to get to know them better. We "princess camped" in a trailer, and sleeping in the great outdoors on a bed is a real treat, I tell you what.

We went up to Starlight Mountain Theatre and watched their live performance of South Pacific on our first evening. We camped right there at Starlight afterward, enjoying Crouch, Idaho. The next morning, we woke up and made "baggy omelets" and headed out to Cascade to our next site.

We set up camp at Arrowhead RV Park which was an amazing campground right on the Payette River. They had bathrooms and showers, a giant fire pit, a totem pole carving station, and lots of activities for people who vacation there for the summer. We parked our trailer right on the Payette, and couldn't have had a better view. Daniel and I had just planned on staying the first night, but after seeing our spot for the second day, there was no way we were going to go home and miss it.

Saturday afternoon, we fished, swam in the Payette River, played with the most adorable pug puppy owned by the campers next to us, ate huge bowls of homemade chili, and relaxed the evening away. Daniel and I were up bright and early on Sunday morning to head back to Boise, and were greeted by quite a few deer on our drive home. It was a wonderful camping trip and I can't wait to go again soon.

See photos from our trip below, with captions underneath some photos.

We may not have been in the rough-and-tough wilderness of Idaho, but my first camping trip was one for the memory books. A big thanks to the Rowe's and Coleman's for the awesome time!

Now THAT is my kind of camping! It looks like you guys really did have a great weekend :)

And that puppy!? I DIE!

WOW! Now that looks like fun. You could just jump straight into that lake? Down here there is hardly a lake where you can just jump in. You usually have to swim out to get to the deep in. It looks like you guys had TONS of fun.

Camping is one of my all time favorite hobbies! Jen and I are even considering living in a tent. ^_^ We're both girly-girls, but for me, sleeping on the ground is 100% better. We did just get an air mattress and silky double sleeping bag, though, so we have that option as well. ^_^ Our dream goal is bike camping, meaning we take everyone on our bikes alone, and bike to our destination and camp there. Outside of the bikes themselves, and the camping gear, which we have, we only need a few more things. I can't wait!

So, is that an engagement ring, that looks like the royal ring, or did she copy you? ;)

ADORABLE pug. Looks good on you!

Thanks Emilie! It was so gorgeous. Our first campsite was kind of in the middle of nowhere, but the second was just awesome!!

Annelise Rowe said...

We totally did. I can't wait to go again... I wish I could spend the rest of the summer camping :)

Annelise Rowe said...

Oh man, me too! It was so hard to pry that little girl out of my hands. She was precious!

Annelise Rowe said...

You haven't??!! You need to find some friends and just do it. I would love to try simple tent camping next time. Sounds so easy!

Annelise Rowe said...

Jasmine, we totally did. I never expected it to be that fun!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thank you! It was a huge success. Now we just need to find time go go again!!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thank you so much, Tiara!! Adam was picking that little bundle of flowers and I took some photos of him, and then he asked if he could take mine. Of course I said yes!! The colors are great!

Annelise Rowe said...

Oh she was just the cutest. Her little snorts and panting were heart-melters!

Annelise Rowe said...

I wish we had gone when I was little. I think I wouldn't have minded being dirty then like I do now!! Ha~

Annelise Rowe said...

It was so fun. She was so fun. All of it was FUN!! :)

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Nicole. It was a total blast. I think I liked the chili dinner best out of all of it. You can't beat chili on the river!

Annelise Rowe said...

It was the BEST kind of camping. It was like having an apartment on the river. I think I could live in one of those permanently .. if they had bigger closets, that is!

Annelise Rowe said...

The river dropped off really quickly right there, so it was plenty deep enough for us. Not in other parts though!

Annelise Rowe said...

It's so fun. It's not even like camping at all, except for that you're just OUTSIDE. I mean, we had a river breeze to wake us up... how can you beat that? :)

Annelise Rowe said...

I agree with you, Brooke. We have to get at least one more in before the season's up. I hope we have time!... Just kidding, we will MAKE time!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thank you, Allison! It's been forever since I've painted my nails and it just felt like time. And that puppy... oh man did she make me want one (and not want one) all at the same time!

Annelise Rowe said...

Oh my gosh that sounds so cool!! What an ideal trip. It's like living off the land... and going wherever you want! I used to read a blog about a girl in Idaho who lived in a tent. It was amazing!

Annelise Rowe said...

It's my wedding ring (I opted out of the wedding band). We wanted a sapphire and that was my favorite setting... not quite as big as Kate's though ;) ha!

Annelise Rowe said...

It was a total blast. I can't wait to go again!

Annelise Rowe said...

Have you been before? You seem like you'd be a total camping guru!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Kelly! I know, that puppy was the cutest thing I saw the whole trip. I didn't want to let her go!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Priya! And yes, you SAVED me with the baby wipes. I ended up loaning them to a few people after waking up the first morning ;) They were excellent! And yes, I can't wait to go a second time. I am looking forward to it!

Cody Doll said...

That is soo cool. I love your jumps by the way.

Ha! Thanks!! Just wait for tomorrow :)
