From Where I Stand

From Where I Stand

From where I stand
the leaves litter the Boise streets,
a wet rainbow of fallen debris.

From where I stand
cars slosh through puddles,
people hustle to work,
it's all go-go-go.

From where I stand
no walk takes the same path,
no day looks the same.
Change is on every horizon.

From where I stand
I'm here only a moment.
A brief second.
A snapshot in time, a passing glance, a break in a step.

From where I stand
everyone else sees
wet streets, scattered leaves, fog clouding the air...

It's all beautiful to me
from where I stand.

An original poem - 11.6.13

Awe. Sooo pretty the poem and song. I haven't wrote a poem in a really long time either. I used to write them everyday sometimes more then once.

Lovely poem! I'm not much for writing poetry myself so I'm definitely jealous of your talent.

Found your blog through the fall follower link up.

Keep up the great writing

Glad you like it. How have I not written in prose since May? Weird. I miss it!

Thanks Carly! I don't know how I went so long without doing any poetry... I need to remember to do it... I enjoy it so much. It's very liberating and says so much more than lengthy paragraphs!

Me too! I have notebooks full of poetry. Most of my poems aren't really poems... but they could be, you know?

Thank you so very much!! I'm excited to see your blog, too :)

I just write and sometimes it comes out as prose, in which I then call it a "poem." Glad you liked it and thanks again!

I totally get that. I had about four to five notebooks full. I took them out though and put them in binders. That way the pencil won't fade so much. I would really like to one day make my own more professional bond book. What do you do with yours?

Kurt, thank you so much. This makes my day! I hope you know how much this means to hear coming from an amazing author like you.

Me too... thank you Julie. Why have I been slacking on them? They're the truest of all my writing.

Annelise Rowe said...

Thank you so much, Nora. I took that photo moments before writing it. And I didn't even know what to write about that day... it just happened :)

Keep them on a shelf and go through them once in a while. Nothing too special.

Thanks so much, my friend. Trying so hard to be open & optimistic even when times are hard :)

Yeah that's why I want to turn my into a "real" book so that way I don't loose them and can share them.
