Christmas at the Rowe House

Rustic Christmas Decor, lit Christmas garland

Our home is all decorated for Christmas. A nativity scene, a Christmas tree, lit garland, reindeer, candles and a poinsettia... oh, and lots and lots of joy to share! It's simple, it's rustic, and it's home.

I love every single thought you have expressed. Being new to the blogging scene, I have to remind myself so often that I want it to be a representation of me and if that means I have 10 readers that appreciate me I'd much rather have that than 100 readers that like the fake me. It's so true. It's not real life.

Your house is lovely and your decorations cozy and festive. Love it! And I'm really loving that bear footstool (?). Whatever it is, I've got my eye on it! ;)

That's so good! I see blogs with thousands upon thousands of readers who just say "cute skirt!" and such... it's so frivolous. Just stay true to your roots and what YOU want to talk about. Even if you're the only person who reads your blog (I've felt that I was the only person reading my own blog before), it still feels good to write it all out, right? Thank you so much for understanding! :)

Annelise Rowe said...

Thank you so much! Which one did you pin? :)

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Stephanie :) That's my favorite part, too. I need to devise something that can stay up all year long on it... it's so pretty!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks KC :) We are beginning to feel more and more like it's home and not just a house. It's the little things that are falling into place that's really making it feel like ours :)

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks zozo! The fabric is SO comfy. It's our favorite. Everyone starts to fall asleep when they come over for movies/football... it's such a snooze-inducing couch!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Allison! We snagged them at Hobby Lobby last year. They come in a big stacked column. And they have several different colors!

Annelise Rowe said...

It's wonderful. You will love it when it happens! Trust me, I waited 27 years!

Yep! He's an ottoman... we've had him for years and years. He was a hand-me-down from my parents. I couldn't see him to go waste!

The one looking through your stairway garland to the blurred tree in the background! YOu can find me easily there with my name and it's on the Christmas Board

I'm catching up on past posts, and I wrote a post just the other day about taking a break from Facebook. I needed to chill out and focus on God and working on my own heart. Comparison is the thief of joy, and I'm exhausted from "fighting back" so I am retreating for just a bit. :)

Me too! Trust me, I've been doing the same. It's amazing when you take a moment to step back and focus on God and how ever-important he really is. It's so much fun to rekindle that fire for Him. PS> I'm making it easier for you to catch up on posts b/c I'm not posting as often! :) haha

Ohhhh, so THAT'S why I don't feel so far behind! Hehe. :) YES. I actually downloaded the app onto my iPad tonight, thinking, "it's been a week, and I don't have a set ending day in mind" and logged on, and honestly ... I deleted the app after 30 seconds. I wasn't ready to dive back into Facebook yet. I am ENJOYING this time away, I kind of wonder if my relationship with Facebook will ever be the same again. I'd kinda be okay if it wasn't. :)

This is super helpful! How did everything play out from the first time you met with a recruiter to completing BMT. I'm 21, in my third year in college, and very excited to join the ANG. I'm going to meet with a recruiter soon but I'd like to research as much as I can beforehand.

Aunie said...

Mariah, thanks so much for your email. So, I kind of have the inside scoop because my husband is employed full time AGR as a recruiter for the Air Guard. So my "meeting" was not the typical one you may imagine. I had several over the period of several months that transpired over car rides, to say the least :)

Recruiters can be your best friend. Be prepared. Take in all your questions and ask whatever you can think of. If they don't have all the answers (they will for the most part) you can always ask me. It's all still so fresh in my mind and I'd love to help if you have any questions about experiencing the Air Force and/or BMT from a female's point of view :)

Aunie said...

I really appreciate it! I have been reading your other blogs and I am going to do Student Flight before I go off to BMT. Later on I might have some questions (especially silly ones like how you had your hair cut; mine is growing out from a pixie but I don't think it will be long enough for a ponytail/bun by the time I leave), and just other thoughts from the woman's perspective :). Your blogs are great and I feel like I'm getting a more personal look at everything the ANG has to offer.

Aunie said...

Thanks, Mariah! I really appreciate that :) Yep, I'm so happy to help. I had my hair cut up to my chin in November before I left, and it was almost down to my shoulders when I got to BMT. Just long enough to fit in a sock bun, thank goodness! But you don't have to wear it up if it's too short. As long as it doesn't hit your collar, you can wear it down :)

I hope you like Student Flight. I LOVED it. Please please let me know if you have more questions. You won't regret joining, I promise! It's the best decision I've ever made for my future! (Besides marrying my husband, of course!)

Aunie said...

Hi Annelise, I am so super happy that you posted this. My question is though, do you absolutely need to be physically fit when going to UTA prior to BMT? The reason I ask is because I have not stuck with any workout regiment (due to bad, Winter weather) & am planning on starting asap because it's Spring. My first UTA is coming up in a month, and although I will try to prepare, I'm not confident at all that I'll meet the push-up requirement :( Is this something that is going to be frowned down upon? Will I get in trouble for it?

Aunie said...

Hey K! Nooooo, absolutely not. They have no expectations going in and take whatever fitness level you come in with! No pressure at all, trust me. :)
