Emerald & Neon

Reversible Skirt, Studded Tank
Top: Forever 21 (similar), Skirt: Xhilaration for Target, Sandals: Steve Madden (alternative), Earrings: c/o Olivia Wares, Bracelet: c/o Mimi Baby Boutique

While browsing the sale section of Target the other day, I stumbled upon this emerald high-low skirt—which is reversible, by the way—and I knew it was going to be coming home with me. The emerald and neon combo was adorable, and they also have it in magenta/orange, navy/light blue and even plum/pink. Which really means that since they're reversible, they're like having 2 skirts instead of one! In addition, these skirts don't wrinkle... HUGE bonus for people like me who sit at a desk all day.

Also, my sandals are a couple years old from Steve Madden, but you might be interested to know that they're having a big back-to-school sale right now, and code SMAUG1 gets you 15% off and free shipping on orders of $80 or more, and code SMAUG8 gets you 20% off and free shipping off orders $125 or more. I'm craving these sandals, these boots and these flats. SCORE!

I love that skirt. You always look so cute.
I went into target and saw some of the cutest dresses one sale. Only problem: they were meant for women with next to nothing up top (modestly). I also saw some cute skirts but I didn't have the money so sadface.

Shut the Dior! We have Target in Australia but I doubt they sell this. I'd love the magenta/orange combo. I wonder if they ship to Australia? Hmmmm

You are so beautiful. I love that skirt - the neon underneath is SO cool!

I actually tried on that skirt the other day! It looks way cuter on you - I wish I had been able to get it :( Love the whole outfit - you looks so cute!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Kat! I couldn't resist it, either... I HAD to have that emerald one... the pop of neon on the bottom is so unexpected!

Annelise Rowe said...

I know! What is it with me and that color lately? Target had some ADORABLE sandals with it, too, but they were out of my size or I would have picked them up!

And YES I finished Heat Wave! I actually enjoyed it. Once I got past the narrator's voice (it grew on me, I guess) I was able to get into the mindset from the show. It was a very clever story, and I have Naked Heat in my car ready to put in as soon as my Ted Bundy story is finished!

Annelise Rowe said...

I know... $11? That's UNREAL!

Annelise Rowe said...

I didn't think they'd be too good on me, either, but when I wear them with heels or wedges it really balances it out... maybe give that a try? :) This one also isn't TOO much of a height change, so that's good :)

Annelise Rowe said...

Me too! The plum/pink combo is great. Would look so fun with leopard, too!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Shannon! I try to make them really simple... something I could hang out in all day. And no no no... I don't shop because I can't stand spending money! So when I do, it's always affordable stuff or on pieces that will be really versatile. I bought those sandals (Steve Maddens are usually pretty spendy for me) and I wore them ALL THE TIME about 2 years ago!

Annelise Rowe said...

Dang girl, I love your compliments :) Thanks Lily!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks April! I feel like it would be really fun to wear the bright version to an art show or outdoor thing around town... my office ladies might die if I wear it to work :) haha!~

Annelise Rowe said...

I never have the money either... boo! And sounds like those dresses would be perfect for me, with all this running I'm like a board up there! :)

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Becca! My hair keeps getting longer, though I don't notice it until I see photos! And that skirt in stores is on sale (in my area anyway) for $11!!!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Catherine! I like it too... very surprising and catches the eye, but not in a "look at me" way :)

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Megan! I wish they still made them... they're about 2 years old, and you know how brands only make shoes for a little bit now-a-days... they go with EVERYTHING!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Cori. It's cute AND it's comfortable. Can't beat that!! :)

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Anna! I think it would look really good on you, too! If you have Targets in your area, I know they still have them on the sale racks :)

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Kelly! It's unexpected and fresh... and I might just have to turn it inside out (since it's reversible) and give the bright side a go!

Annelise Rowe said...

MacKensie... you're so sweet! I'm feeling very fit... probably in the best shape I've been in in a long time! Maybe ever!

Speaking of which, I need to go re-stalk you now!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Grace! It's so nice to hear from you :) I hope you're doing AMAZING!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Carly. I can't wait to wear it in the reversible way, so that the bright side is on top... it will be a BIG statement skirt! :)

Annelise Rowe said...

Ooh great question! Are your guys' styles really different this time of year?

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Yuen! I can't wait to wear it in the reversible way... will be a fun thing to try!

Annelise Rowe said...

Oh wow! Kelsey, you're always nice, but this just might be the nicest thing you've ever said... I need to wear this outfit more often, I think!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Brianne! I never thought I liked high-lows until I saw this one... and it's not too short for the office. It's just so versatile :) Thank you again!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks Niki! I agree... I've never seen anything like it before. The magenta/orange one is also really neat and bright :)

Annelise Rowe said...

No way! I bet you rocked it. I also have worn it with flat sandals, and definitely didn't think it looked as good... it was on sale at my Target for $11... sure you don't wanna give it a go? :) ha!

Cody Doll said...

Hey, take it as a blessing. Seriously! I wish I could wear anything and get away with it, without being called a slut. haha.

Allison Clements said...

I love that skirt!! You always look so pretty in your outfits. I wish they would look like way on me. It's all that marathon training :)

Annelise Rowe said...

Oh man. I bet that's super frustrating! I'm sorry Cody :(

Annelise Rowe said...

Allison, I tell you what, this marathon training is doing things to my body that I never in a million years would have expected. It's kind of throwing me for a loop!

Cody Doll said...

It can be but I have dealt with it with for so long that I don't mind. I just try everything before I buy. I won't ever change my body but don't ever be jealous of other boobs.

Annelise Rowe said...

:) or lack thereof!

Cody Doll said...

haha or that.

Visiting from the linkup. I'd love for you to come over by blog too and leave your thoughts on my latest post: www.fashchronicles.blogspot.com

Annelise Rowe said...

Thank you! I agree, that hidden pop of neon is so fun... and it's reversible, so you can have a hidden bit of emerald if you wish!

Annelise Rowe said...

Thanks so much, Bianca! So glad to meet you. Visiting now!

First - love how you styled this skirt! Second - I found your blog by google searching for Target High-Low skirts. I also write a blog and wanted to see how other fashionable ladies were styling theirs. Great look, and I look forward to reading more on your blog!
