This One's For The Girls

Some things we do for the guys.
Some things we do for the girls.

The above ensemble?
Double Dutch braid, neon purse, funky 80's necklace... that's for the girls.
I believe we ladies like to call that fashion.
And I know firsthand—I'm not always the go-to when it comes to fashion-y things.
I haven't caught on to the peplum, bright red lip, or huge platform shoes trends this year.
Nor will I ever. It's just not me.
In fact, when I shop, I tend to go for the classics.
Tee's, casual sweaters and sweatshirts, easy-going jeans, sneakers or comfy flats.

I tend to be one to dress for the guys (well, just ONE guy, but you get my point).
And honestly, it's easy, because what he loves—I love.

I've seen lots of posts lately centering around a popular topic:
The Go-To Outfit for a Date-Night
or something along those lines.
Want to know my go-to date-night outfit?
Now, granted, I live in Boise, but still...
V-neck tee, jeans, Chucks and a ponytail.
No big earrings. No statement necklace. No bright red pouty lips.
Just me. Just casual. Just the way he likes it.

I love when I see beautiful girls such as yourself that embrace more casual clothes. I feel like there's hope for me! :P

I look like an idiot in peplum, and I've learned that I'm not coordinated enough for platform shoes.
Cute and casual is THE way to go. :)

Aunie... did you ever see the post written by another blogger about how she dresses for men?

When I started reading your post I thought, "Now here's a girl that is kind of stating the same thing, but instead of being pushy and negative she came off smart, thoughtful and not trying to push her opinions on anyone else."

Reading this post pretty much made me adore your blog even more. Thanks lady.

I am the same way. I'm not a trendy person! I always think those "in" things look ridiculous on me. And my husband has commented many times before that women dress for women. Hahaha! It's so true!

I agree, some things out there only women appreciate. Now I LOVE fashion and all that jazz, but I also love being comfortable and sometimes jeans and a tee is it for me, too:)

Dressing for girls or guys is SO different. If I'm dressing for girls I might wear a sock bun with skinny jeans, boots, a white flowy shirt and a statement necklace. I love that! With Chad (the boyfriend) I am much better off ditching the boots for a pair of toms, wearing my hair down, and wearing my long sleeve fitted black tee. That is seriously his favorite outfit!

Whoa, I'm a little stoked that you stopped by my blog. Earlier on other day I was admiring your blog because of your description, I've been steering clear of mommyblogs because of babiesss, ive been steering clear of overly DIYs blogs that makes me feel like a complete idiot. But I just didn't bother to uh get a bit friendly with you because you seemed so successful in the blogging world and compared to me?

but that completely changed today- thank you for stopping by and the kind words you left! Another blog discover, something that doesnt make me feel like a complete failure for not being able to give birth to cute babies, come up with a wacky diy projects, or become martha stewart!

This is such a great post, Aunie.

I have no idea about fashion at all. I do love red lips and dressing up a ton but yet still I'm completely clueless when it comes to being fashionable.

Love your go to date night outfit though!

I like this post. I really do. Because you aren't afraid to be you. And I think that is what it is all about. Right? Being ourselves. Whether some of us are more casual or whether some of us like to dress up, we are all different and unique. I believe that is what makes us special and what makes the night isn't our outfit. It's who we are:) That's what counts. Xoxo

Hi! I'm a new follower, I was directed here by Amanda over at Tales from a FAR.

I admit I'm totally fashion clueless, but I love what I've seen reading through your blog. :] And this is such a cool giveaway you're doing. I haven't really entered into many of these things, so hopefully I'll win some ad space or something!
